Santorini - Greece

Well I’m just back from two fantastic weeks in Santorini, Greece where it is said that the sunsets are the best in the world. From the Caldera there are breathtaking views of the volcano & neighbouring islands and from the east, miles of dark volcanic sandy or pebbled beaches. The landscape is dotted by numerous small domed churches.
We stayed in Villa Limnes in a small town called Perissa not 5 minutes from the beach where we enjoyed blistering sun, a beach bar service second to none and the fantastic crystal clear sea.
The appartment was small but served our purpose though a bigger kitchen would have been of benifit, the accomodation was clean and well kept with a lovely pool though the owners were not friendly in the least and used the facilities (pool and bar) for their own purposes.

The beach bars and the Island was excellent, we hired quads at a slightly expensive price of €45 but with the island being so small travelled all round in one day, from Fira to Oia, Winery’s to little fishing ports the Island has a lot to offer.
I would recommend Santorini to anyone and it provided a much needed rest
